Jayzus H, King Genius! (Please imagine the rest of this "description" as being delivered in my best King Genius impersonation, with the pointing fingers, the little jazz "b", the seething pent up anger and all of it.) WHUDAYA DOIN' TO ME HERE?! First I hear some shit about how Photoshop can do some video layer tricks and that gets me all curious (and derails me from my true current artistic calling slogging through two thousand plus images/video files from an August/September John Muir Trail adventure to get it all onto DVD for almost nobody to watch), then I get further derailed seeing your DANG "2008 Halloween Costume Contest" video posted October 14 and that there was only one video response, and that one was just from some furry Viking hat guy doing a campy impersonation of you (which is pretty campy, being that you're, uh, already a bit of a campy parody of yourself, eh? Or am I not "getting it"?). Anyway, so I see that and I figure, "Shit, I can do better than that," and I FURTHER DERAIL my tree hugger stuff (noting that I do have to work full time for a living, unlike some slacker parodies we know) and spend some time (okay, not too much time) slapping together a Halloween video that is going to A) be my first YouTube video posting, and B) be my first video that's not just backpacking nature tree hugger stuff. THEN (and by all caps I mean to be yelling that, as I guess all the kids who live on "the internets" already know) I go through the rigamarole of uploading the thing, which is a whole new first-timer nightmare 'cuz there ends up being this whole mystery as to how it ends up showing a "watch in high quality" option, but then clicking that just crabs back that the video is no longer available. (Turned out by adding an url parameter of &fmt=18 to the url, I triggered something on the YouTube site that got it properly indexed or whatever, and immediately the high quality version became available. Uh, I seem to have strayed from my KING GENIUS impersonation and into programmer nerdspeak, so let's get back to that King Genius stuff now.) So I do ALL THAT friggin' crazy stuff, taking up MY precious time, and then I venture back to your King Genius world and what do I find? That the video you posted that the furry headed guy responded to wasn't even the contest (I guess I woulda GAWD DANG known that from its "2008 Halloween Costume Contest" title - IF I WAS A GAWD DANG MIND READER!). And the one you did post for the contest has, like, a hundred videos already entered, AND (I'm making a King Genius grimace right now, or maybe it's more Lewis Black) you got all these GAWD DANG rules about the entries and how we "ooooh," (feigning little wimpy/sissy-ass mannerisms now) "have to post them as video responses to your video, and ooooh, we have to claim your video to be one of our favorites, and ooooh, we have to post a comment, and ooooh, whatever else you're manipulating your minions to do -- which I'll have to go back and read to make sure I properly suck up to your pathetic full time slacker ass." So where was I? Oh yeah, and THEN - THEN, I tell you - YouTube sees fit to just grab three frames at certain set locations in a video (that I of course know nothing about as a first-timer) and let you pick between them for the video thumbnail? Well whadaya gonna do, eh? I went with the one that was just black 'cuz it didn't suck like the other two, givin' away surprises or showing the GAWD DANG credits... BUT HERE'S MY POINT: I don't want to win your stupid contest, King Genius! (enter stage left: reverse psychology) I'm just going to additionally post this same dang video as a response to yours and follow all your other GAWD DANG rules (which very well might make sense in some YouTube "how the hell would you know about he entries" way, not to mention servicing your regally egomaniacal needs), and I'll add all this text to this video description - and maybe even add it too as my required "comment" - AND THEN... THEN, mind you, down the road I'll just remove this duplicate video and try to help that little Google company by not using so much of their precious storage space. So TAKE THAT, King Genius! I got you and I got you good!! I'm not sure exactly how, but hey, man; it's the best I can do... Uh, all that being said, your Max Headroom life is pretty entertaining. Keep up the good "work".
