ATWT is taking an unusual risk by introducing a Muslim woman to the show. Many Fundamentalists already believe that Middle Easterm women are too Westernized. Just last year, a 19 y/o Saudi women was sentenced to be whipped with 90 lashes for just being in a car with an unrelated male. When she went to the media, the vengeful judge doubled it to 200 lashes plus 6 months in jail! In general, Islam is very homophobic. How will these viewers take the surprise? Many years ago, PBS (and the UK's ATV) got intense pressure from the Saudis to censor Death of a Princess, which depicted the beheading of a Muslim woman for adultery.
